Kin Canada was founded in 1920 by Hal Rogers. In 1926, BC's very first club, the Victoria Kinsmen club was chartered.

From 1926 to the present day, the members of Kin in BC have positively impacted their communities. The clubs in District 5 work on various projects, mostly in their own communities. Some will hold BBQs or Host Beer Gardens, Duck Drops, Golf Tournaments, etc. All for a good cause. All clubs in District 5 are also encouraged to support Association-wide projects, such as Cystic Fibrosis, and District-wide projects such as the Kinsmen Foundation of BC.
