Armstrong Kin donates $115,000, free skating, and provides DD services over Christmas holidays
The Armstrong Kin Club has wrapped up a busy holiday season and we are excited to share a bit about what they have been up to.
In October, following various trips to car shows, the club auctioned off a beautiful 1976 Corvette Stingray in honour of their late member Glenna Hoggarth. As a result of their efforts, they will be donating $115,000 to the BC Cancer Foundation and the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. The money will support the purchase of equipment for the new cancer center opening in Kamloops. The club has since spent the holidays donating their time providing designated driver services for a Christmas Party, provided free holiday skating in conjunction with the Armstrong Spallumcheen Parks and Recreation Commission, spent time with fellow kin members when the Kelowna Kinsmen dropped in for a visit, and pursuing growth for their club.
The Armstrong Kin continues to set a great example of how Kin can contribute to their communities, not only through fundraising, but through providing opportunities and connection with others.
