Ruth Manz
District Secretary
I have been a member of the Kinsmen Club of Coquitlam since January 2016.  I was familiar with what Kin was all about as having grown up in Saskatchewan and watching all the Telemiracle telethons.  My sister, Margaret is a Life Member of the Regina and District Kin club ( formerly Regina Queen City Kinette Club). During my tenure in the club has held the executive positions of Secretary for 3 years, Vice President, 2 years as President and currently sits as the Risk Manager/Director. Became the club's first female president in the club's more than 70 year history.Â
I stepped away from club executive positions for a couple of years and took on the role of Deputy Governor for the Lower Mainland Fraser Valley for two years 2023/2024 and 2024/2025. I enjoyed getting to know all the members of the clubs in the Zone and was able to get three of the clubs together to coordinate and host the 2025 District Kinvention in Richmond.  I am now enjoying my time being District Secretary and helping the district team get the information out to the clubs.Â
I am currently a board member of the Kinsmen Rehabilitation Foundation of BC and now serving my third - 2 year term. I am the current Secretary/Treasurer of the Board.  I enjoy being on the board and bringing awareness of what the foundation has to offer to the province of BC and to adults with physical disabilities. Â
When not volunteering or working at my regular job as Team Manager at Canada Life, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, family and friends. I enjoy reading, doing puzzles and watching TV (especially Hallmark Christmas movies).
